From Urban Façade to Green Foundation: Re-Imagining the Garden City to Manage Climate Risks

<div><p>Climate risk management evolves rapidly from one additional challenge for urban planning into a radical driver of development. In addition to fundamental changes in increase long-term resilience, the creation new opportunities sustainable transformation is imperative. While planners increasingly add climate risks their menu, implementation effective action lagging. To reduce infrastructure’s vulnerability heat and flooding, cities often rely on short-term incremental adjustments rather than considering longer-term transformative solutions. The transdisciplinary co-development inspiring visions with local stakeholders over timescales decades or more, can provide an appealing prospect city we desire—a that attractive live work in, simultaneously resilient hazards. Taking historic perspective, argue re-imagining historical concepts, such as late 19<sup>th</sup>-century garden until early 21st century greening through nature-based solutions, pertinent example how be combined wide-range socio-economic environmental goals. Climate knowledge has expanded last decades. However, experts mainly focus refinement access observations model results, translating effectively meet today’s needs. this commentary discuss two associated areas (urban expertise) should more fully integrated address challenges effectively.</p></div>
